Trendy Neighborhoods

There are many beautiful neighborhoods in Mexico City. However, there are three which are trendy, easily accessible, and very safe.  While the wedding activities will take place in/around the trendy Polanco neighborhood, find time to visit Roma and Condesa time permitting. Roma and Condesa are of a more “hipster” vibe! All neighborhoods are easily walkable!

Polanco is a neighborhood in the Miguel Hidalgo borough of Mexico City. Full of delightful restaurants and bars, Polanco is also known for its luxury shopping, embassies, and upscale hotels. It is one of the most expensive real estate markets in Latin America and popular with expatriates from around the world. Stop by “Palacio de Hierro Polanco” to see one of the best shopping malls in the world.

Polanco

Situated in the Cuauhtemoc borough of Mexico City just west of the city's historic center. The area comprises two colonias: Roma Norte and Roma Sur, divided by Coahuila street. Roma and neighboring Condesa are popular with foreign residents; the area rivals Polanco as the center of the city's culinary scene. Besides residential buildings, the neighborhood streets are lined with restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, cultural centers, churches and galleries. Many are housed in former Art Nouveau and Neo-Classical buildings dating from the Porfiriato period at the beginning of the 20th century. Roma was designated as a "Barrio Mágico" ("magical neighborhood") by the city in 2011.

La Roma

Considered to be fashionable and popular with younger businesspeople, students and pet lovers. It features a large number of international restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Wide, tree-lined avenues, stately art nouveau mansions and well-maintained art deco buildings give Condesa a European vibe. Hipsters walk dogs in shady Parque España and young professionals browse the fashions in cutting-edge boutiques. Stylish sidewalk cafes, trendy international bistros and casual taquerias dot the area. At night, posh bars and clubs fill with a younger crowd.
